우리는 인간이 정신적으로든 육체적으로든 끊임없이 움직이고 상태가 바뀌는 존재라는 것을 알고 있다. 그에 비해 사진은, 특정 순간에 장소를 재현하기 때문에 고도의 집중력 없이는 개연성 있는 종합을 이루어 내지 못한다. 파악되는 공간과 시간은 질서의 다른 이름들이다. 현실의 파편화 된 시공간을 나만의 시선과 해석으로 자신의 시공간으로, 질서-“그리드(grid)”라는 이름으로 통합하고자 한다. 이번 작업에서 나는 우리 자신의 기억 속에 내장된 시공간의 순간들을 결합, 도시라는 거대한 공간을 그리드화 하여 각기 다른 공간들을 패턴화 시켰다. Space Mass의 이번 전시에서, 작품들간에 보이는 유사성을 볼 수 있으리라 생각된다. 사진에 재현된 현실은 현실 그 자체가 아니라 프레임에 의해 맥락이 바뀌고 낯설게 변한 현실의 한 단면이 된다. 결국 사진은 프레임에 의해 그 자체가 하나의 맥락이 되며, 현실의 공간과는 다른 사진적 공간을 형성하게 된다.
People know that human being is the presence constantly moving and changing mentally or physically. In contrast, as photographs reproduce and represent places and space in a specific moment, it could not create probability of a comprehensive without a high level of concentration. The order is another name of space and time understood. I would integrate fragmented space and time of reality as my own space and time with my own viewpoint and interpret, which is called the order, that is to say, “Grid”. In this work, I built in the memory of my own moment of space and time. I also found and formed patterns and grids in each different space in cities. It is thought that viewers can see the similarity between works in this exhibition in Space Mass. The represented reality in photographs, rather than reality itself, is the cross section of the reality that is unfamiliarly changed. Framing alters a context in a photograph or between works.
