공연이 진행되는 동안 무대의 뒷모습은 숨겨져 있다. 이 숨겨진 공간은, 관객들이 퇴장한 후에야 비로소 불을 밝힌다. 지친 스태프들의 익숙한 술잔이 오가고, 허무와 허탈, 혹은 감동의 여운은 그들의 안주가 된다. 인생의 단막을 드러내기 위해 그 비밀스런 공간에서는 숱한 실패와 리허설, 그 밖에 상상하기 힘든 고통이 경험되지만, 언제나 무대 뒤에 숨겨진 채 의미 없이 사라진다. 나는 사라져 가는 그 공간과 시간을 되살리고 싶다.
이번 전시는 이미 한 차례 전시가 이뤄진 회화작품의 숨겨진 뒷모습을 드러내기 위해 기획되었다. 벽면에 갇혀있던 내밀한 공간을 보여주기 위해, 지난 전시, Puzzlism의 제작과정이 노출된다. 이것은 작업의 프로세스 자체가 고유한 작품으로 제시되는 미학적 의미를 부여하며, 평면에서 입체로의 장르 확장을 유도한다.
총 열흘 동안, 회화 원작의 뒷면이 공개되는 것과 동시에, 다양한 예술행위가 이뤄지고, 그 일련의 과정이 상도동 지역 주민들에게 고스란히 공개된다. 예술의 의미와 가치가 결과에만 있는 것이 아니고, 그 과정을 통해 내적 경험의 표현까지 포괄하는 중요한 시발점이 되기를 기대한다. 또한, 변환(장르의 확장)과 다양성(퍼포먼스)에 관한 이해가 발화되기 바란다.

A backstage is hidden during the performance. The lights in the hidden backstage are turned on only after the audience disappears. Then, exhausted staff members have drinks together over their emptiness, prostration and touching impressions. Although lots of failures, rehearsals and pains that we cannot imagine are needed in the secret space in order to show one act of life, they are hidden and disappear meaninglessly as always. I would like to revive the vanishing space and time.
"Open Noise" is planned to show inside the paintings of "Puzzlism" that have been exhibited previously. The process opens up the covert space in the wall, and the process itself is revealed as an artwork in the aesthetic sense, inducing the expansion of genre from two dimensions to three dimensions.
Various artistic performances will take place in the backside of original paintings for 10 days. All the process is opened to the residents of Sangdo-dong. I want the expressions of inner experience through both the result and process to be the meaning and value of art and the chances to show the understanding of transformation(extension of genre) and variety(performance).
